Green in Our Hands

Art and climate change project. Through a grant from the United States Embassy in Costa Rica & with the collaboration the Organization of Tropical Studies: La Selva Sta. in Sarapiquí, CR. I developed a series of workshops about art, science & climate change in a rural are for 30 students of the Environmental High school in Horquetas de Sarapiquí.

This proposal was a mile stone in Costa Rican Education. It consisted in implementing for the first tima, the coordination at an Institutional level of art and creativity as an important tool for reinforcing individual and community identity. Comprehensive youth development and empowerment were promoted by encouraging the free expressions of their concerns & possible creative solutions in their community about climate change. This proposal was developed through simultaneous art & science workshops.
